LANGHORNE, PA- The Highlanders wrapped up their season against Clarks Summit University, winning 3-1 in the season finale.
 
Cairn honored the career of libero Kylie McCann prior the game's start. McCann, the libero, has been an excellent defensive presence for the Highlanders over the season, tallying 198 digs. The senior stepped up in her final game and led Cairn with 23 digs to finish her career in stellar fashion.
 
Cairn started off hot against Clarks Summit as freshman Lyntia Gwess and junior Haley Sheehan each tallied multiple kills to stake the Highlanders to a 13-5 lead. Feeding off the momentum of senior day, the Highlanders rolled to a first set win by a score of 25-12. The Highlanders scored 6 straight points early on in the second set to take a 9-6 lead, but the Defenders came back with a 5 point run of their own to retake the lead. Clarks Summit would finish their second set victory by a score of 25-21. After a lopsided victory for Cairn in the first set, a margin of only four points would separate the two teams over the third and fourth sets. Fortunately, the Highlanders came out on top in both sets and concluded the season with a 3-1 victory.
 
The Highlanders finished the season at 8-21 overall, and 5-6 in the CSAC. With a team largely made up of underclassmen, the Highlanders will readily look forward to next season and building on their conference success of this season.
