Rosemont, PA – On Wednesday night the Cairn women's basketball team comfortably held a 26-point lead over the Rosemont Ravens with under 12 minutes remaining. The Ravens clawed their way back, ending the game on a 38-15 run. The Highlanders had to hold their breath when a desperation three in the final seconds missed the mark and the Highlanders held on for the 73-70 victory.
Madelyn Brodish and
Victoria Stum collected double-doubles to lead the Highlanders in the game. Cairn jumped out to an early 7-0 lead and it looked to smooth sailing as the Highlanders took a 38-20 lead into the half. As mentioned, Cairn grew their lead to as many as 26 points late in the third-quarter, but turnovers plagued the visitors and opened the door for a Rosemont comeback.
