Radnor, PA - The Cabrini Cavaliers proved to be too much for the Cairn women's tennis team on Saturday afternoon taking out the Highlanders 8-1.
Rebecca Graber took out Elena Conway in the the number one singles match for the lone victory for the Highlanders on the afternoon.
In doubles play, the number one singles competition lived up to the billing with a 9-7 decision going in favor of the host, Cabrini. With the 9-7 defeat, the duo of Graber and
Bianca Birney suffered their first defeat as teammates.
The number three doubles match with the team of
Maya Neal and
Kara Williams fell to Katie Muska and Lexi Douglas 8-5.
Heading to singles play the Cavaliers held a 3-0 lead over the Highlanders.
Overall the six singles matches were not as close as their doubles counterparts. Outside of
Rebecca Graber picking up her fifth victory in singles play this season over Elena Conway 6-4, 6-3 the Highlanders picked up 11 games.
Bianca Birney (No. 2 singles),
Kara Williams (No. 3), and
Maya Neal (No. 4) each picked up three games in their matches, but ultimately dropped their matches.
The loss, drops the Highlanders to 3-4 overall and 1-3 in the conference. Cairn will next take the field on Tuesday when they host Neumann University at 7:00 p.m.
