Griffins Too Much For Highlanders

Langhorne, PA – The Highlanders hosted Gwynedd Mercy Univeristy in softball action on Tuesday afternoon and were defeated in both games by the Griffins. Cairn was limited to just one hit in the first game in the 20-1 loss and dropped the second game 29-3.
 
Alexandra Nathan had Cairn's only hit in game one and also scored the team's only run. In game two, Jessica Piccolo led the team by going 3-for-3 with one run scored. Rachel Clark also went 2-for-3 in game two with two RBI.
 
Clark also pitched both games for the Highlanders and had one strikeout with 18 total walks. Alyssa Morales picked up the wins for the Griffins in both games from the circle.
 
MaryKate Ballerino led the Griffins in game one by going 3-for-4 with three doubles and three RBI. Jessica Behr was 4-for-6 in game two including a grand slam and eight total RBI. Becki Christoffers also hit a home run in game two.
 
With the losses, Cairn dropped to 0-26 this season and 0-16 in the CSAC. Gwynedd Mercy improved to 21-7 overall and 12-2 in the conference with the wins.
 
The Highlanders will next travel to Immaculata University this Saturday, April 23rd, to take on the Mighty Macs.
