Langhorne, PA – The Highlanders hosted the Mighty Macs of Immaculata University on Saturday afternoon in their final game of the season. Cairn University also recognized the seniors on the women's basketball team before the game:
Amie Eppolito,
Regina Younger, and
Rikki Shingledecker.
Immaculata avenged their previous loss this season to the Highlanders by defeating Cairn in the game 75-57 on 47% shooting overall. The Mighty Macs outscored the Highlanders in each of the four quarters and put up 46 of their points in the paint.
Aigner Bookard led the Highlanders in the game with 15 points, followed closely by
Kendra Stum with 14. Stum also collected the most rebounds for the Highlanders with nine.
Amie Eppolito also finished in double digits with 10 points. Both Eppolito and Bookard went 2-5 from three point range.
In the first quarter, Cairn jumped ahead to leads of 9-5 and 12-8 but the Mighty Macs quickly came back to tie the game at 12-12 and eventually lead at the end of the first quarter 21-16. The Highlanders couldn't get past the Mighty Macs defense throughout the remainder of the game.
With the loss, the Highlanders finished their 2015-16 season with an overall record of 6-19 and CSAC record of 5-11. The Mighty Macs improved to 8-17 overall and 8-8 in the conference with the win and also finished out their campaign.
