Rosemont, PA – Cairn University dropped their third straight game on Saturday afternoon when they played at Rosemont College. The Highlanders were outscored in each of the four quarters by the Ravens who took a total of 85 shots in the 84-47 result.
The Ravens finished the game with a 42.4% field goal percentage (36-85). By comparison, the Highlanders were 32.1% from the field (18-56).
Kendra Stum led the Highlanders in the game with 14 points and four assists.
Payton Emerick led the team in the rebounding effort with 11 total.
Amie Eppolito scored 10 points and three assists.
Alliya Austin led the Ravens with 22 points, shooting 10-14 overall and played 22 minutes off the bench. Ayanna Thompson followed with 17 points, while Nadirah Anderson finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
The Highlanders led the game early on, 4-2, and then had the game tied at 6-6 halfway through the quarter. However, Cairn couldn't keep pace with the Ravens from there as Rosemont went on an 11-0 run to end the first stanza.
Rosemont proved too strong the rest of the way and went on to win their second conference game of the season. Cairn dropped to 3-11 overall and 3-4 in the conference with the loss.
Cairn will return to the court on Wednesday, Jan. 20, when they travel to Notre Dame of Maryland University for a 7 p.m. game.
