Rosemont, PA – Cairn women's volleyball fell to Rosemont College on Wednesday night by a 3-0 score in conference action. The Highlanders finished CSAC competition with the game this evening and end the season with a 0-11 conference record. The Ravens won with set scores of 25-17, 25-18, and 25-22.
Cairn finished with nine kills to Rosemont's 25, and were led by
Whitney Seidel (Harleysville, PA/Upper Bucks Christian) with five kills.
Breanna Blair (Manchester, PA/Christian School of York) led the team in aces with seven, she was followed by
Haley Sheehan (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown Community H.S.) with five. Blair finished with seven assists for the Highlanders and Sheehan led the team in digs with seven.
Rosemont was led by Morgan Rollins with 10 kills for the match, followed by Nadirah Anderson with six. Leilani Carter led the team in aces with eight and Sabrina Heggan collected 19 assists for the Ravens.
The Highlanders had their best chance to win a set in the third after they came back from a 10-0 deficit to eventually tie the set at 17-17. Rosemont was able to suppress Cairn from there, however, and take the third set with a 25-22 score.
Cairn dropped to 0-20 overall with the loss, while Rosemont improved to 2-21 overall and 2-9 in the conference with the win. The Highlanders will play their final game of the season this Friday, Oct. 30, as they host Penn State Abington at 7 p.m.
