Radnor, PA – The Highlanders didn't have any answers for the high-powered Cabrini Cavaliers on Saturday afternoon and lost the game 103-33.
The Cavaliers controlled the contest from start to finish and didn't give the Highlanders an inch. At the end of the first half, Cabrini led 52-8 and forced Cairn to make 18 turnovers. The Cavaliers stole the ball 14 times and scored 23 points off of turnovers.
Amy Faust had four points in the first half on two jumpers in the paint. Amie Eppolito hit one shot for three and Emily Tambussi was 1-2 from the free throw line in the first 20 minutes.
The Highlanders bettered their first-half efforts by scoring 25 points in the second half. Eppolito finished with 12 points and Faust ended the game with six points overall. However, Cabrini continued their strong play and finished out the game with 103 points; their first time reaching 100 this season.
Amber Keys led the Cavaliers with 20 points and eight rebounds, she was followed by Megan Decker and Meghan Horn with 12 points each. Every player that entered the game for Cabrini registered at least two points in the game. More than half of Cabrini's points were scored by their bench players.
Cairn will look to regroup from the loss to take on 0-8 Baptist Bible College this coming Monday, Jan. 12, at 6 p.m. in Clarks Summit, Pa. The Highlanders moved to 2-7 overall and 0-4 in the CSAC, while Cabrini improved to 10-3 overall and 4-0 in the conference play.
