Box Score

The odds were stacked against the Lady Highlanders, as they are stricken with injuries right now, and were forced to play down a player.  Although, the team never gave up, never got angry with each other, and faught for 90 straight minutes, in the end, Cabrini was too much for Cairn as the Highlanders fell 7-1.

It took just 2 minutes and 13 seconds for Cabrini to jump out to a 1-0 lead Dana Peterson took a through ball from the middle of the field and was able to chip the ball over goalkeeper Mackenzie Paugh.  Just over 2 minutes later, Cabrini would strike again as Kaitlyn Cooper netted her first goal of the season, giving the Cavaliers a 2-0 lead.  In the 19th minute, Cabrini would score for a third time as Devon Miller would deposit a header in the back of the net off of a Cabrini corner kick.  Cairn trailed 3-0 at the end of the first half.

The second half seemed to be all Cabrini as well, and in the 48th minute, the Cavaliers would find the back of the net one more time, giving Cabrini a commanding 4-0 lead.  Sophomore Hannah Morrison had the lone goal for Cairn in the 50th minute as she weaved in and out through the defense and blasted a shot beating the keeper to get Cairn on the board and to cut the lead to 3.

"Even with so many injuries and having to play a man down in todays game because of injuries, I am really proud of the way my team played and left everything out on the field, played their hearts out, and had each others back" said Hannah Morrison. "Even when we are down they kept playing as if we weren't and really worked hard."  "I'm looking  forwad to Saturday being homecoming and having tons of fans and just getting the chance to play another home game."

Cabrini would score three more times in the final 30 minutes of play to take game 7-1.

Cairn will use these next couple of days to try and get healthy and regroup as they will welcome Keystone College to Langhorne on Saturday for homecoming.
