Box Score LANCASTER, PA - The Woman's Soccer team visited long time rival Lancaster Bible College and fell to the Chargers by a score of 4-0.
Box ScoreSaturday afternoon Cairn struggled to generate offense and were not able to figure our the Lancaster defense which resulted in a scoreless day. Lancaster struck first in the 13th minute of play, when Alyssa Wesner stole the ball deep in Cairn territory and crossed it to teammate Monica Lambertson who beat Mackenzie Paugh for her 8th goal of the season.
28 seconds later, it was Lancaster who was back on the attack as Emily Beltran weaved her way through the Cairn defenders and netted her first of three goals on the game. In the 27th minute, Beltran struck again as she received a through ball from Bethany Stein and beat Paugh for second goal of the game. Lancaster lead 3-0 going into the break.
Cairn would need to rally back and come from behind for the win, however Lancaster was too strong, and in the 61st minute it would be Beltran who would complete the hat trick and seal the 4-0 victory for the Chargers.
Lancaster improves to 7-2 on the season, while Cairn falls to 2-4 (1-1 CSAC).
Cairn is back at home Tuesday afternoon to continue CSAC play as they will take on Cabrini at 4:00 pm.
