Set two saw Cairn down early again, this time the Highlanders tied the set at 12 and then used a team effort of kills, aces, and capitalizing on miscues from Keystone to come from behind again and win 25-20.
Although close, the third and final set saw Cairn in front for the whole set. Cairn was up 20-15 which prompted a Giants timeout. Out of the timeout, Keystone cut the Highlanders lead to two points with a score of 23-21. Cairn was too much for Keystone and they were able to get the final point of the day with a kill from Steger to win 25-22.
Sophomore Kate Steger had this to say about the teams performance. "I think tonight we played as a team for the first time this season and it really showed in how we executed our kills and passes. We just really worked as a unit and it worked."
The Highlanders just started a five game homestand, and will continue CSAC play Wedneday evening welcoming Notre Dame of Maryland to the Mason Activity Center.
