Box Score ASTON, PA - After winning four out of the first five matches of the year, The Lady Highlanders have run into offensive struggles and Thursday was no different as Cairn loses in three sets to Neumann University by scores of 11-25, 18-25, and 19-25.

Cairn, now 4-11 (0-1 CSAC) has gotten off to a slow starts in the first sets of games being outscored 255 to 346.  Neumann was in control during the first set as Cairn found themselves in a hole that they could not come back from.  Neuman jumped out to 17-7 lead in the first set, before eventually finishing off the Highlanders with a final score of 11-25.

In the second set, it seemed as if Cairn was in control with a 10-5 lead, but Neumann was able to go on an eight point run to take the lead at 13-10.  Again, Neumann was too much for Cairn to handle and second set ended with the Knights winning 18-25.

With Cairn's back against the wall, the Highlanders needed to fight back to over come the two set deficit.  The third set consisted of momentum swings and runs by both teams.  Once again, Neumann was too much for Cairn to handle and the Knights ultimately took the third and final set by a score of 19-25.

"It is dissapointing to lose, but we are not giving up.  Conference play just started and the season has really just begun.  We will continue to work hard and prepare for Keystone" said Coach Ben Fuller.

In the loss, Kate Steger had a game high 18 kills and had a .400 hitting percentage on the night.  The double digit kills marks the third time in the last four games that Steger has registered more than 10 kills.  Sami Delfino had a team high 21 assists and a game high 17 digs on the night.  

The Highlanders will regroup and prepare to continue conference play as the Highlanders will welcome Keystone to the Mason Activity Center Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm.
