Men's Golf Lowers Strokes Off of Team Score

MIDDLETOWN, PA - The golf team was back in action competing in the Penn State Harrisburg Fall Invitational at the Dauphin Highlands Golf Course. The team may have come in 11th of 12 teams, but the highlight came from all five golfers lowering their scores. The Highlanders shot a 699 (346, 353) +111 over the course of two days.

Cairn was cruising on day one, until inclement weather over the last couple holes caused the Highlanders to have to take extra strokes. When the weather stopped, the Highlanders were able to right the ship and take 27 strokes off of their first round of the season.

The Highlanders were led by Ian Zang who shot a season low 165 (82, 83) which was good enough for a tie of 29th place out of 59 golfers. In only his second match of his collegiate career, Mike Boucher, shot a new season low of 177 (83, 89) putting him in a tie with teammate Josiah Buss (84, 85). Adam Green was able to take strokes off of his round from last week shooting a 190 (93, 97) for 50th place.

"It was encouraging to see each of us improve and drop our team score by over twenty strokes. We're looking forward to building on that momentum for our match this Wednesday at Richard Stockton" said Ian Zang.

The Highlanders will head back to the links on Wednesday to participate in Richard Stockton Invitational at Stockton Seaview Hotel & Golf Club in Galloway, NJ
