Women's Tennis Gets First Win of the Season

LANGHORNE, PA - On September 13th, Baptist Bible traveled down the Northeast Extension to face off with Cairn in the Highlanders CSAC opener. Even with a pushed up start time, Mother Nature was not going to allow the teams to finish their match.

With the rain starting to pour in Langhorne, the match was suspended with the Highlanders narrowly ahead by a score of 4-2. Going into the suspension, the Highlanders had secured wins in two out of three doubles with wins at the number one and number three positions. Freshman Rebecca Graber took care of her singles opponent 6-0, 6-2 for the team's third point. Britta Nelson also did her part to put Cairn up 4-2 by defeating her number six singles counterpart 6-2, 6-3.

With the Defenders coming back to Langhorne Monday afternoon before heading out to Radnor to also take on Cabrini College, Junior Lauren Shidel had won the first set and was currently tied at three games in the number three singles. Shidel would go on to win 6-3, 6-4 to seal the Highlanders first win of the season.

The Highlanders will use the next three days to build on this win and to get ready to continue conference play as they will host Cedar Crest Friday evening at 6 pm in Langhorne.
