Arcadia Wins in 4 Over Host Highlanders

Box Score LANGHORNE, PA - The women's volleyball team fell to the Knights of Arcadia University this morning by a score of 1-3 (15-25, 20-25, 25-21, 23-25).

The Highlanders were a little slow to get going as they dropped the first two sets before winning the third. The fourth set appeared as if it would also go Cairn's way as Cairn led by a score of 21 to 16 going into an Arcadia timeout. However following the timeout the Knights were able to rattle off 7 unanswered points forcing a Cairn timeout. The shift in momentum proved to be too much for Cairn as they went on tolose the fourth set 23-25.

Offensively both teams were fairly evenly matched with the Highlanders boasting a .118 hitting percentage, while the Knights averaged a .188 hitting percentage. For the Highlanders Kate Steger led the team with17 kills, while Natalie Cadmus totaled a match high of 20 kills for Arcadia. Defensively Brigid Shehan had a standout performance with a match high total of 23 digs. Other notable performers include Sami Delfino with 41 assists and KarianneNilsen with a .318 hitting percentage.

Today's contest marks the 9th loss in a row for the Lady Highlanders. When asked how he felt about the current skid facing the Highlanders, head coach Ben Fuller said, "It is one of those things that often happens to a young team. Our team definitely has the talent to win we just need to do a better job of not getting down on ourselves when we are down a set or two."

The team will have four days to refocus and reorganize before their next competition at Neumann University on September 25th at 7:00pm. The Highlanders three stars of the game go to:
