LANGHORNE, PA - The Cairn Highlanders Women's Tennis team opened confrence play this evening under the lights of the McCurdy Tennis Facility, however the visiting Neumann University Knights, spoiled the occassion defeating Cairn 8-1.

In doubles action, Neumann completed the sweep of the Highlanders as Sarah Schroeder and Bre Klar won in first doubles over Britta Nelson and Rebecca Graber by a score of 8-2.  In the second doubles spot, Sara Keating and Lauren Shidel were outduled by Teresea Kozin and Cherie Allen by a score of 8-1.  In the final doubles spot, Talene Brinker and Justice Mallard defeated Sarah Breyer and Natalie Livingston by a score of 8-3.

For the second match in a row, Britta Nelson was able to pull out Cairn's lone win.  Nelson defeated Justice Mallard in the sixth singles spot by a score of 6-1, 1-6, and 7-6 (10-4).  Graber, playing in the first singles spot, battled against Bre Klar, but was unable to capitalize on an early lead in the first set and eventually fell 4-6, 4-6.

The Highlanders will need to shake this match off as they continue confrence play tomorrow morning in Gwynedd Valley, as they will take on the Griffins.  The match is slated to begin at 11:00 am.
