Langhorne, PA: The fans packed the house Friday night and the Highlanders didn't disappoint winning in three straight sets (25-18, 25-16 and 25-14) over The King's College (NY).



Sophomore Kate Steger (Hilton, NY / Hilton) led Cairn with a team high 19 kills adding two service aces as well.  Senior Brigid Shehan (Media, PA / Penncrest) recorded 11 kills and chipped in 18 digs on the defensive side of the floor. Freshman Sami Delfino (Coral Springs, FL / Coral Springs Christian Academy) added a team high 43 assists.

Leading early in the first set 11-10, the Highlanders sparked a 14-8 run capped by a Shehan kill to close out the first set.

The Lions battled all night cutting the Cairn lead to 8-7 in the early stages of the second set. The Highlanders would close out the second stanza on a 7-2 run winning the set on a kill by junior Karianne Nilsen (Staten Island, NY / Port Richmond) on an assist from Delfino.

The Highlanders capped the third set on a kill by Steger also assisted by Delfino.

Whitney Seidel (Harleysville, PA / Upper Bucks Christian) added nine kills and Nilsen chipped in seven.

The Highlanders will hit the road tomorrow  traveling to Penn State-Abington to participate in their Quad Tournament were they will square off against CSAC opponents Immaculata and Notre Dame of Maryland in non-league action while wrapping up the quad tournament against the host Lions.
