Box Score Rosemont, PA- The Cairn University Women's Basketball team traveled to Rosemont College to battle the Ravens, but their bid for an upset was denied as the Lady Highlanders yielded a 90-40 loss.

The Lady Highlanders staked themselves to an early deficit once again, as the Ravens were able to amass a sizable 27-5 lead over the first ten minutes of gameplay. Cairn guard
Elizabeth Joy Hartzler began to put up points in bunches in the freshman's best efforts to bring the Lady Highlanders back.
Hartzler totaled twelve first half points on four three pointers to lead the Lady Highlanders in the first half, but despite her efforts, Cairn trailed by a score of 52-17 at the break.
In the second half the Lady Highlanders played a much cleaner game, showing signs of the promise they have exhibited all season. Cairn point guard
Amie Eppolito busted out of a recent cold stretch, scoring eleven second half points and demonstrating excellence as a floor general, protecting the ball and initiating the Cairn attack. The Lady Highlanders fell to Rosemont 90-40, but a second half in which Cairn totaled a mere six turnovers bodes well for the Lady Highlanders upcoming postseason play. Additionally,
Hartzler displayed an all-around game not usually seen from the three point shooting guard. For the night,
Hartzler and
Eppolito poured in an impressive eighty percent of the Lady Highlanders points.

The Lady Highlanders will battle Valley Forge Christian College in NCCAA postseason play Wednesday night. Cairn lost to the Patriots in their last meeting, but the Lady Highlanders will look to step their game up in the playoffs.
