Box Score Immaculata, PA- The Mighty Macs of Immaculata University were able to put down a great scoring output from Lady Highlanders guard
Elizabeth Joy Hartzler, defeating Cairn by a score of 103-38.
Box Score
The Lady Highlanders were blitzed right off the tap by perennial CSAC powerhouse Immaculata and their high-scoring guard Sara Smith. Immaculata scored the first ten points of the game and were able to compile a twenty-two point lead eight minutes into the game. Cairn came back on account of
Hartzler and her five three pointers in the first half, but the Mighty Macs forced the Lady Highlanders into a couple costly turnovers, and the Lady Highlanders entered the half trailing 55-29.
Despite the deficit, the Lady Highlanders shot a respectable 50% from the field, and a blistering 46% from behind the arc in the first half.
The Lady Highlanders offense went cold in the second half and the Mighty Macs stifled Cairn's offense the entire period. An impressive defense, plus shooting 65% from the field in the second half was ultimately the undoing of the Lady Highlanders as they were unable to overcome the multi-faceted attack of the Mighty Macs.
Cairn's top performers for the night were:
Elizabeth Joy Hartzler (18 points)
Regina Younger (4 points, 6 offensive rebounds)
Whitney Seidel (7 points, 4 rebounds)
Amie Eppolito (6 assists)
The Lady Highlanders will face Rosemont College Wednesday night at 6:00 PM in their last CSAC contest of the year.
