Yardley, PA - Three Highlanders finished with scores in the 80's but fell behind by nine strokes to Penn State Abington in the team scores to finish in second place overall. Josiah Buss led the Highlanders with a score of 84 (+12) and he was followed by Ian Zang with a score of 86 (+14).

Buss finished the front nine with a score of 41 that included a birdie on the par-4 4th hole to highlight his round. Zang's low nine holes came on the back of the course where he birdied the par-5 16th hole and also shot a 41.

Pin placement was an obstacle for the golfers today, as well as the wind - a constant factor at the Makefield Highlands. Mike Boucher also finished in the 80's today with a round of 88 (+16). Finishing out the four scoring golfers for Cairn was Adam Green with a 93 (+21) in ninth place overall. Matt Rhodes entered in the final score for Cairn on the day with a 105 (+33).

Penn State Abington won the competition with a 342 overall and placed Joe Shaw and Mike Lam in the first and second positions overall. The next outing for the Highlanders comes one week from today, 10/14, when they will travel to Centenary College.
