Box Score LANGHORNE, PA - The Women's Volleyball welcomed the Rosemont Ravens to the Mason Activity Center Saturday morning for Homecoming and were victorious; winning 3-0 with scores of 25-15; 25-22; 25-14.
Box ScoreThe Highlanders who got off to a slow start on the season, have really started to find their grove and have now won three consecutive CSAC matches. In the first set, Rosemont would jump out to a quick 5-0 lead before the Highlanders would score their first point. The Ravens stood their ground until Cairn was able to tie the set at 13. The Highlanders would then rattle off 12 of 14 points to take the first set 25-15.
Set two was full of back and forth action with both teams going on runs to take the lead. It would be the Highlanders who would get the best of the Ravens as
Karianne Nilsen would register the kill for the final point, giving the Highlanders a 2-0.
The Highlanders were too much for the Ravens to handle in set three as they jumped out to 8-2 lead. Although the Ravens would try and claw their way back into the set, it would be the Highlanders who shut the door and completed the sweep on the
Nilsen ace.
Kate Steger and
Whitney Seidel led the way with 8 kills for the Highlanders.
Nilsen added six kills of her own.
Sami Delfino see her impressive streak of double digit assits improve to 18, as she had a game high 23 assists.
Senior
Brigid Shehan had this to say about the team's performance. "It was an interesting game in the beginning, but we really picked it up by the end. A bunch of new girls had a chance to go in and do some damage, and they did a great job!"
The Highlanders will continue their homestand Wednesday afternoon as Lancaster Bible College and The University of Valley Forge will participate in a tri-match. Cairn will play Valley Forge at 3:00 pm and Lancaster at 7:00 pm.
