Baltimore, MD - Cairn University completed their final match of 2014 with a 9-0 win against Notre Dame of Maryland just one day after a 9-0 loss at home to Marywood. The Highlanders improved their overall record this season to 4-11 and their CSAC record to 4-6 with the win.
In the singles matches, only Sara Keating gave up more than two games in a set with a 6-2 loss. However, Keating came back to win the next two sets with 6-2 scores and won her match. Rebecca Graber and Natalie Livingston won their matches without giving up a game. Although Graber's winning streak came to an end in her previous matchup, she still holds an impressive record this season of 10-4.
Both Lauren Shidel and Sarah Breyer won their singles matches against the Gators with scores of 6-2, 6-1. Shidel improved her overall record in singles to 6-9 with the victory.
The Gators gave the Highlanders no trouble in the doubles matches and Cairn won all three without giving up more than three games. The 4-6 conference record is a much improved record over last year's finish at 1-9. The Highlanders will look to continue this improvement for 2015.
