Ducks Down Highlanders in First Game Back From Break

Box Score Langhorne, PA - The Lady Highlanders were unable to overcome the balanced scoring attack of the Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks in Wednesday night's out of conference contest.

Box Score

The young guard tandem of Sophomore Amie Eppolito, and Freshman Elizabeth Joy Hartzler combined to score 26 of the Highlanders 32 points on the night.

The Ducks balanced scoring attack though was simply too much for the Lady Highlanders to overcome. In a game where twelve different players managed to score for the Ducks, a total of 32 points was just not enough. The Ducks' Daphne Ginn posted 11 points, while Freshman forward Brittany Washington chipped in a double- double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Lady Highlanders fought hard in the early goings of this contest, until a 23 point run opened things up in the Ducks' favor. Stevens Institute of Technology took a 37-16 lead at the end of the first half and never looked back. When it was all said and done, the final tally was 64 for Stevens and 32 for Cairn.

The Lady Highlanders fell to 0-7 on the season, while the Ducks improved to 8-3.

The Lady Highlanders will seek to shake off the rust of Christmas Break on Saturday in a Colonial States Athletic Conference clash against the winless Notre Dame University of Maryland Gators.
