Lady Highlanders Fall Short Against Defenders

Box Score The Lady Highlanders were in search of their first win on Wednesday, as they traveled to conference rival Baptist Bible College.

BBC would jump out to an early 9-0 lead, but the Lady Highlanders showed their resiliency by going on a 10-2 run of their own, cutting the deficit to one midway throught the first half. Cairn would struggle to find the bottom of the net the rest of the half, as the Defenders led 34-18 at the break. Amie Eppolito led the way for the Highlanders with 10 first half points.

Cairn looked to improve upon their first half performance, but were unable to pull much closer, eventually falling to the Defenders of Baptist Bible College by a score of 73-38. Amie Eppolito had another big night for the Highlanders with 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Sophomore center Emily Tambussi chipped in with 11 points and 6 rebounds, while Regina Younger and Brigid Shehan also did some nice work on the boards finishing with 8 and 7 rebounds, respectively.

The Lady Higlanders fall to 0-10, 0-6 in CSAC play, and look for their first win of the season on Saturday, as they travel to Centenary College to continue CSAC play.
