Cairn was able to rely on multiple options in attack in order to overwhelm the Defenders defense. Seven different players recorded four or more kills for the Highlanders, with none more than senior middle hitter Emily Mayer. Mayer had a game-high eight kills.

Abbie Keating tacked on seven kills, while Brigid Shehan and Rachel Johnson tallied five each. Erin Greenwood, fresh off of her CSAC Player of the Week award, finished with 28 assists.

Defensively, the Highlanders came up with ten more digs than their opponents, with senior libero Ashleigh Colomina stepping up with a game-high 13 digs. Nicole Spicer and Johnson each had two block assists.

With the win, Cairn improves to 9-4 on the season and more importantly starts their push for a first CSAC championship with conference-opening win against a team that finished ahead of them in last seasons standings.

The ladies will take part in the Lancaster Bible Tri-match this Saturday, on September 26, where they will face off with the Chargers and Valley Forge Christian College.
