Langhorne, PA - Cairn University hosted Lancaster Bible College in a non-conference match and in a tight battle, the Chargers edged out the Highlanders 5-4.

Cairn took an early 2-0 lead after tandem's of

Emily Van Teyens won their doubles matches. Hardman and Jensen played in the number one doubles spot and earned an 8-2 win, while Vant Teyens and Breyer worked for an 8-6 win in the third spot.
Heading into singles play, the Chargers were credited with wins in the first through fourth spots.
Lauren Shidel and
Sara Keating earned wins for the Highlanders in the fifth and sixth spots.
Shidel's marathon win was the first of her career, outlasting LBC's Tiffany Wolf 6-0, 5-7, 6-1.
Cairn did come within a set of having reversed fortunes. In the fourth spot,
Natalie Livingston nearly pulled out the much needed win. Taking the first set 7-5, the Charger's Julia Dairychuk rallied from behind to take back-to-back sets from Livingston, 6-0, 6-3.
The loss drops the Highlanders to 1-6 on the year.
On Wednesday, the Highlanders will host Rutgers-Camden in a rematch of last year. In 2012, the Scarlet Raptors win 8-1 in Camden, NJ.
