Scranton, PA - The reigning Colonial States Athletic Conference champions of Marywood University proved too much for the young Highlanders of Cairn University.
The loss reduces Cairn's record to 1-4 on the season and hands them their third defeat to start their conference schedule.
Despite being outplayed by the Pacers, there were overall signs of improvement from the Lady Highlanders. In 2012, MarywoodÂ
hutout the Highlanders in two of three doubles matches and two of the singles contests. Fast forward a year and the Highlanders earned a game in every matchup except one.
BothÂ
Liana Jensen and
Natalie Livingston won at least a game in both of their sets, while freshmanÂ
Sarah Doorly took two games in her opening set before falling 6-2, 6-0.
In doubles play, all three pairing for the Highlanders took a single game from their highly-skilled opponents.

There's no time to rest, though, for the Crimson. The ladies host Keystone College tomorrow at 3pm. In quite a turn around from 2011 to 2012, the Highlanders defeated the Giants 8-1 two years ago before Keystone reversed fortunes with an 8-1 win of their own last year.
