Women's Volleyball Perfect at Frostburg Tri-Match

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Frostburg, MD - Cairn University's women's volleyball team swept both Frostburg St. and Univ. of Pittsburg-Greensburg on Saturday to bounce back from back-to-back losses over the previous seven days.

In the opening match, the Highlanders took down the host, Frostburg St., 25-14, 27-25, 25-21. The Crimson followed that up with a another convincing sweep, this time taking care of business against the Bobcats of Pittsburg-Greensburg.

The pair of wins move the Highlanders to 5-2 on the season.

Junior outside hitter Brigid Shehan paced the Highlanders attack with 23 kills on the day, including a 15 kill performance against Frostburg St. Erin Greenwood collected 45 helpers.

On defense, Shehan, Karianne Nilsen, and Greenwood each tallied double-digit digs agaisnt Greensburg. Nicole Spicer and Ashleigh Colomina registered 13 and 10 digs respectively against Frostburg, with Shehan and Greenwood combining for 24 digs between the two of them.

This Monday, the ladies will hit the road again, this time making a trip to the Big Apple to take on The King's College. Cairn swept the King's last year, as Emily Mayer led the way with a team-high 8 kills.
