Box Score
Langhorne, PA - For the second night in a row,
Erin Greenwood led the Highlanders in scoring, although the women's basketball team lost their final game of the regularseason 60-41, to Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Immaculata University.
Greenwood recorded her second career double-double logging 15 points on a solid shooting night, going 6 for 9. She also had a game-high 11 rebounds. It's the second double-double in as many games for Greenwood, which has helped tremendously for the Highlanders with leading scorer
Hannah McCardle out for the game against Valley Forge. Though McCardle returned tonight, she's still not back to 100% fitness.
Ruth Nelson also claimed a double-double, her third this season and career, with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Immaculata, playing in its last game of the season, said farewell to senior guard Chrissy Esbensen who closed out her career with a game-high 19 points.
The Mighty Macs jumped all over the Highlanders early on, forcing a number of turnovers. Immaculata took full control of the game in the first half and took a 31-14 lead into the break.
Cairn was able to slow the tempo of the game down a bit in the second half, limiting the Mighty Macs shot attempts while also reducing the number of turnovers that led to easy baskets for the visitors. Immaculata narrowly outscored Cairn in the second half, 28-27, with the final score reading 60-41.
The Highlanders will now travel to Valley Forge Christian College next Monday for a semi-final match up in the NCCAA East Region playoffs. Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm
