Baltimore, MD - Cairn University's women's volleyball team made quick work of Notre Dame of Maryland on Wednesday afternoon, sweeping the Gators 3-0.

The Highlanders took the opening set 25-16 before really hitting their stride in the second set, strolling to a 25-10 win to take a 2-0 lead in the match. The Gators put up a fight in the third set but were unable to overcome a confident Cairn team, as the ladies closed up shop with a 25-20 third set win.

The win pushes the Highlanders to 2-1 within the Colonial States Athletic Conference standings and 12-5 overall.

Brigid Shehan paced the Highlanders attack with 10 kills on the night. Rachel Johnson added eight to the cause. Erin Greenwood smashed four service aces past the Gators in addition to her 25 helpers.

Defensively, Ashleigh Colomina had a game-high 14 digs, followed closely by Shehan with 13 and Greenwood with 12.

The Lady Highlanders now gear up for another conference match with Immaculata University on Saturday, October 5th.
