Clearwater, FL - Cairn University's women's volleyball team made the trek down to Clearwater, FL to compete in the Clearwater Christian Labor Day Tournament.
The tournament consisted of 8 teams divided up into two groups, and then seeded for the final day. In the opening game, the Highlanders faced a familiar name but an unfamilar oppponent in Baptist Bible College of Missouri. The ladies made swift work of game one, winning 3-0. The second game of the tournament saw the Highlanders square off against host and reigning NCCAA champions, Clearwater Christian. The Cougars took the game 3-0 and were in prime position to win the group.
On the second day of the tournament, Cairn faced off with Trinity Baptist College and came out on top, 3-1, securing 2nd place in the group and earning a spot in the 3rd place game.
In the 3rd place game, the Highlanders met Trinity College of Florida, with Trinity proving victorious, claiming 3rd place. Cairn took 4th place in the field of 8.

Tuesday, September 4th, the Highlanders will return to the court for their home opener in Langhorne, PA against local rivals Arcadia University. The first serve is set for 7pm.
