Raptors Too Much To Handle For Highlanders

Camden, NJ - On Monday afternoon, the Highlanders fell to NJAC non-conference opponent Rutgers-Camden, 8-1.

The teams opened things up with doubles play and Cairn's tandem of Meghan Whittington and Dana Hartman are proving to be a tough nut crack. The pair notched the Highlanders lone tally of the day by defeating Rutgers-Camden's Jordan Crawley and Katy Reed, 8-5. Whittington and Hartman have now won two in a row and 3 of their last 4 outings. The Raptors claimed the other two doubles battles 8-0 and 8-1.

In singles play, Rutgers-Camden jumped all over the Highlanders winning 6-0, 6-0 in four of the match ups. Freshman Liana Jensen did take a single game against her opposite, falling 6-1, 6-0. Tara Munro, however, pushed Camden's Jordan Crawley but in the end, fell 6-4, 6-3.

This upcoming Thursday, the Highlanders will host rivals Baptist Bible College in a rained out make-up game.
