Box Score
Washington, DC - A strong performance from
Haley Weber was not enough to propel the Crimson Eagles past the Tigers of Trinity University (DC).
The sophomore guard from Newfane, NY led all-scorers with 15 points. Weber shot an impressive 5-for-9 from beyond the 3-point arc.
Hannah McCarde (Lewishberry, PA / Red Lion) added 10 points. But the Crimson Eagles, still struggling with the loss of
Danielle Bradley-Wilson (Philadelphia, PA / Delaware Valley Charter) and
Brianna Teijaro (Gap, PA / Pequea Valley), couldn't keep up with the deeper bench of the Tigers. Trinity was able to rely on contributions from 9 different players.
Christa Burgess led the Tigers with 12 points.
The first half was pretty close, with neither side able to break away as the two teams went into the halftime break 28-33, with the Tigers in the lead. The second half, however, turned into defensive struggle as both teams really struggled from the field. PBU shot only 4-for-20. Trinity didn't fair much better, shooting 8-for-25.
Unable to find their shooting touch, the Crimson Eagles couldn't overcome their halftime deficit and slipped to a 47-57 defeat.
PBU falls to 4-17.
The Crimson Eagles will return to conference play this Tuesday when they host Immaculata University. Tip-off is scheduled for 6pm.
