Glenside, PA - Cairn University's women's basketball played their second game in two nights during the holiday season, squaring off with Arcadia University in Sunday's game.
For the second time in two days, Cairn's
Hannah McCardle notched 20 points in a pair of losing efforts. The 5'10 senior forward went 7-for-15, including two 3-pointers.
Haley Weber tallied 13 points while
Ruth Nelson added 11 of her own.
After 5 minutes, Arcadia held a slim 7-6 lead. At that point, the Knights went on a 13-4 run to open up a 10 point advantage and never looked back. Arcadia took a 44-22 lead into the break. The Highlanders improved their defense in the second half, but were unable to close the gap in the final 20 minutes. Arcadia would go on to claim a 75-48 win in the non-conference game.
Arcadia's Samantha Caligiuri seemed unstoppable throughout the night, racking up 27 points on 11-for-19 shooting.
Cairn is now 0-8. Arcadia moves to 6-5.
The Highlanders will host CSAC rival Marywood University on January 3.
