Langhorne, PA - The Royals of Eastern Mennonite University gave the Cairn University women's basketball team more than they could handle in a holiday season showdown.

Four different Royals finished in double-figures, led by Steph Rheinheimer who paced EMU with 15 points. Shakeerah Sykes had 13 points while both Kala Yoders and Jess Rheinheimer tallied 12 points apiece, helping Eastern Mennonite to a 93-40 win over Cairn. Sykes also grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds, helping the Royals dominate the glass with a 46-25 advantage in rebounds.
Hannah McCardle had a game-high 20 points to lead all scorers.
Amie Eppolito knocked down three second half 3-pointers for all 9 of her points.
Emily Tambussi continues to improve in the paint, snatching 12 rebounds.
There wasn't much Cairn could do with 32 turnovers on the day, which pretty much summed up their play. Trailing 53-19 at half, it was all but over at that point.
The defeat drops Cairn to 0-7 on the season. EMU improves to 5-4.
Next up, Cairn will travel to Arcadia tomorrowwith a 2pm tip-off time.
