Kissimmee, FL - Cairn University's women's volleyball team are down in Flordia, competing for the National Christian Collegiate Athletic Associations national championship.
On the opening day of the championship, the Cairn Highlanders dropped a pair of matches against higher seeds #2 Maranatha Baptist Bible College and #3 Lincoln Christian.
In the first match, the Highlanders fell 1-3 to central regional opponent Lincoln Christian. Later in the day, the Highlanders were shutout 0-3 against power-house Maranatha.
Now at 0-2 and with two matches to play in their pool, the Highlanders can still finish 2-2. Their remaining matches are against lower-seeds #7 Ohio Christian and #10 West Coast Baptist College. Cairn will have to take care of business on their end and hope for an upset in one of the other days matches.
