Reading, PA - Penn St.-Berks handed Cairn University's women's tennis team a non-conference loss on Monday.

Despite Meghan Whittington's come from behind defeat of PSU-Berks Ruth Fortuna, 3-6, 6-4 (10-5), the Lions got the better of the Highlanders on all other fronths.

In doubles play, Berks swept the Highlanders taking all three matches. In singles play, Dana Hartman nearly forced a tie-breaker against her opposite, Kristina Hatter, but fell short at the final hurdle 6-2, 7-6 (7-5). Whittington proved to be the only Highlander with the winning to touch on the day.

Cairn returns to the court this Friday in a rematch against Baptist Bible College, who the Highlanders defeated 7-2 back on September 27. The first match counted as a non-conference match but the match this Friday counts towards conference play.
