Langhorne, PA - The women's tennis team played a pair of matches this past weekend against a couple of top notch CSAC opponents.
On Friday, the Highlanders faced conference powerhouse Marywood University. The Pacers took all 9 points on the evening, giving the Highlanders no chance of a surprise upset. Marywood currently sits tied at the top of the CSAC standings with reigning champions Gwynedd-Mercy.
On Homecoming Saturday, the Highlanders took on the visiting Mighty Macs of Immaculata. It wasn't quite the homecoming result Cairn was looking for though. Immaculata swept the doubles play, although
Meghan Whittington and
Dana Hartman forced extra points in their 7-9 defeat.
In singles play,
Tara Munro played in the 2nd spot for the Highlanders and prevailed 6-2, 7-6 (7-1), giving Cairn its only point of the day.
Natalie Livingston continues to improve her game but fell 2-6, 3-6. Immaculata would claim an 8-1 win.
The team will travel to Reading, PA this Monday, October 8 to take on Penn St.-Berks.
