Cairn Locks Up Home Court Advantage

Langhorne, PA - The women's volleyball team has secured home court advantage for the first round of the Colonial States Athletic Conference playoffs for Cairn University.

The women's volleyball team was involved in a regular season ending tri-match with CSAC foe Rosemont College and New Jersey Athletic Conference representatives Kean University.

In the day's opening match, Cairn flew past Rosemont College 25-5, 25-11, and 25-9, locking up the 4th seed in next week's CSAC playoffs and ensuring home court advantage in the first round. The Highlanders, as the 4th seed will face-off with #5 seed Marywood University. The match is set for Tuesday, October 30th. With "Frankenstorm" on its way, that date may change.

Following Kean's 3-0 win over Rosemont, Cairn and Kean faced off.

The Highlanders took an early 1-0 lead, taking the 1st set 25-18. Kean would quickly turn things around though, with two straigh set wins, 25-20 and a closely fought 29-27. Cairn responded by grabbing a 25-20 4th set win, tying things up at 2-2. Kean would wrap things up though in the final set, 15-6.

Against Kean, Abbie Keating paced the Highlanders with 14 kills 27 digs. Brigid Shehan followed close behind with 13 kills of her own.

Cairn wrapped up their 2012 regular season with a 19-11 mark, 8-3 in conference play.
