Crimson Eagles Stop Chargers

Box Score

LANGHORNE, PA
- The Crimson Eagles put a stop to Lancaster Bible College's 5 game-winning streak and took some redemption from last season's NCCAA East Region Final defeat.

There was no need for added incentive heading in to the match for the Crimson Eagles, and you could see it from the first serve. PBU sprinted out to a 25-12 win in the first set.

LBC would make it a more competitive match in the next two sets, but were unable to cope with the team effort put forth by the Crimson Eagles. It would be the Chargers own doing, however, that would be their undoing.

Both sides had a total of 27 kills, but the Chargers had 21 attack errors compared to PBU's 8. In an effort to solve the problem, LBC changed setters during the match. Katie Coomber and Emily Timberlake both played set-up for LBC. Coomber had 12 assists and Timberlake had 11. PBU's Erin Greenwood played her role superbly as setter, finishing with 24 assists.

Crimson Eagle senior Rebekah Morrison led the way for PBU with 8 kills. Teammates Ashley Taylor and Brigid Shehan chipped in with 6 kills apiece. LBC's Lauren Heliger led all players with 11 kills.

A unified team defense saw PBU make 47 digs, led by Erin Greenwood with 12.

PBU took on Valley Forge Christian College in their 2nd match in the Tri-Match.
