LANGHORNE, PA - For the second time this month, PBU's Women's Tennis team defeated rivals Baptist Bible College.
Once again, the Crimson Eagles were off to a slow start. They dropped two of three doubles matches, with only Dana Hartman/Meghan Whittington beating their BBC opponents Dehlia Orth/Chi Boggs.
Singles play appears to be the strength of this PBU squad and they used it to come from behind. Senior Katelynn Wilson, PBU's #1 seeded player, continues her strong start to the season by defeating Kellie Bernard 6-2, 6-1.
The battle of the #2 and #3 seeds went the way of BBC, with Leigha Motta losing 6-1, 6-0 and Rebecca Hardman falling 6-2, 6-1.
Crimson Eagle Dana Hartman got the better of BBC's Cas LaBaw 6-3, 3-4. 6th seed Hannah Maddox finished off Defender Sharayah McMindes 6-1, 6-1.
In what would prove to be the crucial game-winning match, PBU's Tara Munrow faced off against BBC's Dehlia Orth, in a battle of the 4th seeds. After winning the first set 6-1, Munro dropped the second 4-6 to set up a winner take all third set. It would take extra games to settle the contest, but eventually Tara Munro would prevail 7-5 to give PBU the win.
The final score would finish 5-4.
PBU will play host to Penn St.-Abington on Tuesday, September 20th. The matches kick-off at 3pm EST.
