UNION, NJ - The Women's Volleyball split their matches on both days of Kean University's Cougar Classic.

The Crimson Eagles pulled out a 3-1 victory in the first match against the host Kean Cougars. They dropped the second contest, however, to Ithaca College 0-3.

It would be more of the same on the second day of the weekend, with the Crimson Eagles taking the first match only to fall at the second hurdle.

Southern Vermont would triumph after PBU beat Goucher College.

The Crimson Eagles came with a multitude of attackers against Kean College, with 8 different players scoring kills. Brigid Shehan, Ashleigh Colomina, and Erika Catalano did a lot of the dirty work on defense, combining for 37 of the teams 55 digs. 

PBU would win 3-1 (25-10, 15-25, 25-18, 25-22) versus Kean.

Ithaca College would be another matter.

The Crimson Eagles were unable to stop Ithaca's Marissa Weil, who would compile 15 kills against PBU. 

Ithaca came up 3-0 winners.

Coming out on Sunday, the Crimson Eagles would jump all over Goucher College early. PBU would run out to a quick 2-0 lead, by taking the first two sets 25-13 and a convincing 25-5. Goucher would not go quietly though, as they forced a drawn out 3rd set, eventually prevailing 31-29. Behind Erin Greenwood's 40 assists performance, the Crimson Eagles would finish the job winning 25-20 in the 4th set.

In the fourth and final match-up of the weekend, PBU would take on far north competition in Southern Vermont. After a long weekend, the last thing either side wanted was a long match but neither side was willing to concede.

The match would last 5 grueling sets, with Southern Vermont coming up victorious in the end, 3-2. 

PBU finished the weekend 2-2, moving to 6-8.
