SCRANTON, PA - PBU's Women's Tennis took a trip up the Northeast Extension to take on conference opponent Marywood University, but came up short.
Marywood swept the doubles competitions, winning all three match-ups. PBU's Katelynn Wilson and Leigha Motta provided the stiffest competition in the tandems arena, but were no match for Marywood's Beth Schneider and Lindsay Burke, going down 8-2.
The other two doubles matches finished 8-1 and 8-0.
Crimson Eagles Rebecca Hardman and Tara Munro lost 8-1 to Carly Leitzel and Melissa Hudock. Megan Nastelii and Lauren Fersh defeated Dana Hartman and Meghan Whittington to complete the doubles sweep.
Senior Katelynn Wilson was the sole winner for the Crimson Eagles on the day. She was able to come out on top in a battle of the number #1 spots in the singles match-up. After dropping the first set 4-6, she was able to turn the match around and eventually won 4-6, 6-2, 10-0.
The rest of the Crimson Eagles weren't able to keep up with the depth of the Pacers #2-6 spots.
The Crimson Eagles fall to 3-2 on the season, 1-2 in CSAC play.
Their next match is a rematch against conference rivals Baptist Bible College. The Crimson Eagles came away 6-3 winners in the season opener for both teams. That match did not count towards the CSAC standings though. The Crimson Eagles will look to pull a double over the defenders.
