LANGHORNE, PA - It was a tale of two halves Thursday evening during PBU's final home contest of the regular season. Trailing by just four at the break, the Crimson Eagles were outpaced 40-23 during the back end of play, ultimately falling 72-51 to Cedar Crest College.
The host group was impressive on the glass and won the turnover battle for just the fifth time this season but couldn't combat a woeful shooting percentage that saw the squad hit just 25.4 percent of their field goal attempts.
The Crimson Eagles pulled down 15 boards - one more than the Falcons - and held a 25-18 edge in total giveaways, but Cedar Crest nonetheless pummeled PBU by hitting 50 percent of their field goal attempts throughout the night. It signals just the fifth time this year the Crimson Eagles have allowed the opposition to hit half of their shots or more.
Playing for the final time in Langhorne, senior Careth Herron paced the host group with 19 points and nine rebounds while fellow classmate Lisa Garner added 10 points and six boards. Hannah McCardle chipped in with eight and eight, respectively.
With their regular season officially complete, the Crimson Eagles will gear up for NCCAA East Region play, beginning next Thursday against Lancaster Bible College. Game time against the Chargers is slated for 6:00 pm on the road.
