LANGHORNE, PA - Philadelphia Biblical University's Women's Basketball team defeated Penn State-Abington, 73-64, to win their second straight and matching their season total wins from 2010-2011.
The Crimson Eagle win was powered by a 21 point effort from sophomore guard
Haley Weber (Newfane, NY / Newfane) and 19 points from sophomore forward
Danielle Bradley-Wilson (Philadelphia, PA / Delaware Valley Charter).Junior
Hannah McCardle (Lewisberry, PA / Red Land) also chipped in with 14 points of her own.
Setting the tempo for the Crimson Eagle offense, senior leader
Sara Poole (Edison, NJ / Timothy Christian) had a season-high 11 assists and 3 steals. Poole also logged the most minutes of any player, playing 38 minutes out of a possible 40.
Despite the effectiveness of PBU's offense, it was Penn State's junior guard Trisha Watson who lit up the scoreboard. Watson finished with 34 points on 12 of 22 field goals, including six 3-pointers.
With the win, the Crimson Eagles improve to 2-2 on the season. The Nittany Lions fall to 0-3.
The Crimson Eagles will have 6 days off to be thankful for their two game winning streak, before they return to take on Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Notre Dame (MD). The Crimson Eagles will travel to Maryland for the match.
