Crimson Eagles Knocked From National Tournament

KISSIMMEE, FL - The Crimson Eagles of Philadelphia Biblical University lost both games on the final day of the NCCAA Div II Women's Volleyball National Tournament.

PBU lost their first match of the day to #2 Maranatha Baptist Bible College in a closely contested game 0-3 (21-25, 22-25,14-25). The loss all but eliminated the Crimson Eagles from contention for a national championship.

In the second game of the day, against #6 seed Lincoln Christian, the Crimson Eagles were competitive in yet an even closer match up but had nothing to show for it after losing 0-3. PBU dropped the first set 22-25 and looked to faltering to the finish line when they lost the second 17-25. However, the Crimson Eagles showed signs of life and a never-say-die attitude in the third set, which needed extra points to be decided. It wasn't meant to be on this day, though, as Florida Christian prevailed 27-29.

Seniors Rebekah Morrison (Fayetteville, NC / Village Christian), Tricia Taylor (Elk Grove, IL / Home School), and Joy Bucknam (Mechanisburg, PA / Bible Baptist) close the book on a successful four years as Crimson Eagles. The trio helped PBU to an 83-55 record, a .601 winning percentage, in their time on the courts.
