BALTIMORE, MD - Philadelphia Biblical University's Women's Volleyball team swept by the Gators of Notre Dame (MD) 3-0 to wrap up their regular season.
The Crimson Eagles cruised to a 3-0 sweep behind the flawless attack of senior
Joy Bucknam (Mechanicsburg, PA / Bible Baptist). Bucknam was credited with 7 kills on 8 attacks and no errors on the evening. She finished with an attacking percentage of .875.
Junior middle-hitter
Ashley Taylor (Coopersburg, PA / Southern Lehigh) also finished with 7 kills on the night.
PBU took the first set 25-13, on 9 kills out of 21 attacks. They would improve their performance in the second set, winning 25-12 with 9 kills on 20 attacks and only 1 attack error. The ladies finished with a team attacking percentage of .400 for the set. Leading 2-0, the Crimson Eagles saw off a late push from the Gators to win the third set 25-17.
Overall, PBU had a team attacking percentage of .279 and 29 kills.
Erika Catalano (Hamden, CT / West Woods Christian) finished with 12 digs, while
Erin Greenwood (Springfield, OH / Shawnee) had 26 assists.
PBU finishes the season with a 17-13 record overall, 7-4 in Colonial States Athletic Conference play.
With the win, the Crimson Eagles locked in a spot for the CSAC playoffs, but are still awaiting to find out their seeding.
