SCRANTON, PA
- Philadelphia Biblical University's Women's Volleyball team were victorious in their match against Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Marywood University.

The win marks a huge boost for the Crimson Eagles as they look set to qualify for post-season play. The win not only puts PBU one step closer to the playoffs, but also gives them better positioning as teams start to jostle for playoff seeding.

It didn't come easy for the Crimson Eagles though. In a 5-set match, every single set, with the exception of the 4th set, went down to the final points.

Marywood jumped out to a 1-0 lead by winning the first set 25-20. The Crimson Eagles responded by taking the next 2 sets 25-23 each. With the game on the line, the Pacers made sure there would be a 5th and final set by strongly winning the 4th set, 25-14. With both teams facing defeat, the Crimson Eagles rose the highest and took down the Pacers 15-12.

PBU sophomore Ashleigh Colomina, for the second game in a row, played an increasingly crucial role in the Crimson Eagles attack. She would lead PBU with 29 attacks. Also seemingly coming out of nowhere, freshman Susan Santucci, finished tied for the team lead with 8 kills. Senior Joy Bucknam and junior Ashley Taylor also had 8 kills apiece. Colomina added 7 kills on her behalf.

Crimson Eagles sophomore Erin Greenwood did her part in the attack, with 36 assists.

Defensively, 2nd-year player Erika Catalano, had 36 digs. Colomina and Greenwood also put in some good shifts with 12 digs each.

PBU improves to 14-10 overall, but more importantly 5-2 in CSAC.

The Pacers fell to 12-8, 4-3 in CSAC.

The Crimson Eagles are on a good roll, with their second 3-game streak of the season, but know full well that there are still four crucial Colonial States Athletic Conference matches to play.  The next is this Thursday when PBU hosts Cedar Crest College at 7:00 pm.
