Crimson Eagles Outshine Knights

Boxscore

LANGHORNE, PA
- The Crimson Eagles put together another solid team performance to take down the Knights of New Jersey City University, 3-1.

In a sport that often can see one or two players come to dominate or collect all of the stats, first year Head Coach Ben Fuller has instituted a spread offense at PBU. Five different players finished the day with 5 or more kills.

Senior outside hitter Joy Bucknam led PBU this time, drilling home 7 kills. She was accompanied on the offensive side by junior Ashley Taylor, senior Rebekah Morrison, and freshman Brigid Shehan who all concluded the afternoon with 6 kills apiece.

Senior Tricia Taylor chipped in with 5 kills; and Ashleigh Colomina with 4.

Both Morrison and Shehan had an impressive .417 attacking percentage.

PBU made quick work of the Knights, jumping out to a 2-0 lead with wins in the first two sets 25-8, 25-11. However, just like the Crimson Eagle's match against Immaculate,  they seemed to give light to the their opponents by dropping the 3rd set, 19-25. Coach Fuller was able to get his squad refocused for the final knockout blow.

The Crimson Eagles put the match away in the 4th set, 25-19.

Sophomore Erin Greenwood and Brigid Shehan came up with 8 digs, but sophomore Erika Catalano did even better with 13.

Greenwood set the tempo with 33 assists.

PBU now moves two games above .500, sitting at 11-9.

The Crimson Eagles will look to carry their momentum into their match Wednesday against Delaware Valley College. Match starts at 4pm at PBU.
