Immaculata Mighty in Triumph Over PBU

Most teams experience a game or two every season where things simply don't go as planned. For the Crimson Eagles, Saturday was that day. PBU dropped a 90-32 decision to Immaculata University over the weekend, signaling the squad's largest defeat in over a decade.

The Mighty Macs were flowing in every aspect of the contest, knocking down 53.1 percent of their field goal attempts including a 50.0 percent mark from long range. The host group manufactured significant edges in points off turnovers (40-8) and points in the paint (40-10) while stifling the Crimson Eagles into their second to worst shooting clip (23.3 percent) of the year.

Immaculata corralled 25 steals while pulling down 15 offensive boards, two statistics that helped the Mighty Macs secure a 57-14 advantage by the time the first 20 minutes had expired. The Blue and White continued their efficiency into the second half, outscoring PBU 33-18 during the back end.

Ranking in the upper echelon of the conference in team three point percentage entering Saturday's affair, the Crimson Eagles' normally dependable outside shooting was absent as well. The group knocked down just a single triple throughout the afternoon, marking just the second time this season that PBU has failed to connect for two or more 3's in a game.

Senior Careth Herron paved the way with 14 points for the Crimson Eagles while Haley Webber added seven. Producing an extremely well-rounded effort, Immaculata had 11 players score four or more points in the win while nine different players pulled down three or more boards.

The basketball team will look to bounce back from Saturday's defeat this upcoming Tuesday during a battle with Keystone College in Langhorne. Game time against the Giants is 6:00 pm.
